this post is sponsored by Pier 1 Imports – all opinions and ideas are my own. thanks so much for supporting the brands that keep Somethin’ Southern going!
One of my most favorite things about living in the South is the ability to entertain outdoors year round! Oyster roasts and bonfires in the “winter” and everything else in the summer! I LOVE hosting and I’m always down to be outdoors so when Pier 1 Imports invited me to collaborate with them to style a few pieces from their Spring and Summer collections, I jumped on it. Pier 1 Imports is your one stop shop for outdoor entertaining! I kid you not. From cocktail napkins to melamine plates in just about every color – they’ve covered all the bases! A quick trip to Pier 1 Imports (shouldn’t be hard to find because there are over 1,000 stores!) and a visit to the grocery store will have you block party ready in no time!
I loved how versatile Pier 1 Import’s selections are – from more tropical/global pieces (think gold pineapple glasses and wicker hanging chairs) to classic coastal pieces (which is mostly what I’ve featured in this post) there’s a lot to choose from AND best of all, their team members are just about as helpful as they come! Their customer service is incredible. Ask a team member for help curating your party’s look and they’ll be quick to steer you in the right direction.
When it comes to what pieces you’ll need for your outdoor party – the list can feel a little overwhelming so I definitely recommend keeping the basics simple! For example, single color plates, white tablecloth, neutral serving pieces (how cute is this whale board that we used to serve our bruschetta?!) incorporate pieces you already own, and grab a few statement pieces as well. I love how this boat (which I used as a cooler!) and the cute lanterns added interest to my tablescape. Keeping the basics simple (but pretty of course!) makes room for colorful food, drinks, and accessories!)
^^^ I mixed a navy + white runner I had in my closet with the Jute Natural Table Runner. I like how the layered look added a little more texture and interest to the setup.
Now onto the food. We put together three ah-mazing (and suuuuuper simple!) recipes for our get-together. We’ll definitely be whipping these up again.

Love the pop of color these melamine plates and festive napkins added.
