I love Asheville! While I don’t feel like I’m “hip” enough to fit in, it’s a really neat place to explore! I’d highly recommend visiting for a romantic weekend away!
We did a bit of exploring but mostly, we ate (I know you’re not surprised!) a few of our favorite’s were: 12 Bones for barbecue, 67 Biltmore for the tastiest comfort food, and the Omni Grove Park Inn for everything else. We stayed with some of our best friends who live right outside of Asheville (and their sweet daughter, Abigail) but if we were to go back and stay in a hotel it would absolutely, hands down be the Omni Grove Park Inn. Pearce and I spent one evening, just the two of us at the Omni exploring the property, dining (go to the bar and order a couple cheese plates and then make your way up to Edison for dinner), and taking advantage of the stunning mountain views + cozy oversized fireplace. It’s nothing short of magical.
While you’re in Asheville make sure you head downtown and visit the chalkboard wall as well as Wicked Weed Brewery. There are a ton of great shops, coffee bars, and breweries downtown that you’ll want to check out. We could have easily spent an entire day exploring this area.
I should also mention a few attractions in the area worth visiting – The Biltmore Estate (be sure to make reservations in advance), Cataloochee Valley (hunt down the Elk, they’re awesome!), and a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway to check out the stunning waterfalls!

Wow! You were in Waynesville – where I live! We just moved here a little over a year ago to plant a church and I found you (and ordered some personalized stationary!) via Emily Ley. Anyways. . . so cool you could visit our area. We’re about to get some snow! 😉 Happy Monday to you!
